Modernising Brisbane’s oldest standing European residence
Newstead House wanted to offer a more engaging, modern experience for visitors. While the artefacts and history are rich, the lack of interactive content meant visitors weren’t fully engaging with the stories behind the exhibits. They needed a way to provide detailed information seamlessly and enhance visitor navigation throughout the property.
Our challenge was to create an intuitive digital solution that allowed patrons to scan QR codes at various points around the house to access detailed information about each exhibit. The microsite also needed to assist with navigation, improving the overall visitor experience.
A seamless journey
We designed a mobile-friendly microsite tailored for ease of use. We implemented QR codes strategically placed around Newstead House, enabling visitors to scan and instantly access information on each exhibit, including its historical context, visuals, and multimedia content.
Additionally, the microsite included a built-in navigation feature, allowing users to explore the house at their own pace while accessing key points of interest.
An experience worth returning for
We worked closely with Newstead House’s team to map out key artefacts and their relationship to the rooms of the house & history, ensuring accurate and compelling content for each exhibit.
We continue to work with Newstead House to explore the potential of adding more interactive features to the microsite, and other features to further enrich the visitor experience.
From the client
Since the launch of the microsite, Newstead House has reported an increase in visitor engagement with the exhibits.
