A new place to hang

Working with a completely new venue and building a brand from the ground up is always a challenge we relish sinking our teeth into.

Our brief from the Stratton team was to create a brand that was utilitarian with a hint of elegance, while alluding to the unique nature of the space.

Under the arches

We took the shape of the venue itself (two World War II era hangars) to create a clever and understated logo mark. We leant into a 1940’s art nouveau look for the type without going too ‘Gatsby’.

Creating thin and elegant lines to frame their collateral and signage to provide an aesthetic that elevates without stealing the show.

Tapping into the aesthetic

We created an abstract logo mark – a flexible brand centrepiece that can adapt to any medium while remaining distinct. The newly crafted logo showcases a remarkable fluidity, representing a departure from the conventional aesthetics of café logos.

Supporting the logo mark is an interplay of fluid and elegant shapes framed against stark anchoring typography and a focused,
muted palette.

Results

The result was a brand which perfectly encapsulated both the space, and the feel of Stratton – which fed (excuse the pun) through to all collateral, signage, online and other brand
use cases.
